Start It Up 04:22
Sometimes I feel like giving up, Nothing really matters to me. I spent 10 straight days without leaving the house, Drowning in my own misery. But then I see your face in the morning sun I feel my dreams and hopes rising up. I finally found a way to start it up And now that I ain’t running I ain’t gonna stop I really felt like giving up, But now I’m in my groove again. I finally found a way to start it up And now that I ain’t running I ain’t gonna stop I really felt like giving up, But now I’m in my groove again. Friends don’t call, nothing seems to flow I won’t even get to the bedroom door. Staring at the mirror all I see is pain, Afraid I’ve gotta start all over again. I feel the blood in my veins running fast, And I know this feeling is gonna last. I want to thank you girl, all you’re doing for me Is making me the man that I wanted to be. I finally found a way to start it up And now that I ain’t running I ain’t gonna stop I really felt like giving up, But now I’m in my groove again. I finally found a way to start it up And now that I ain’t running I ain’t gonna stop I really felt like giving up, But now I’m in my groove again. (REPEAT)

So many things to do every day, Taking up so much time. The river’s overflowing, yeah Filling up this mind of mine. I’m trying to let go just a little more, Cutting things here and there. My thoughts are bouncing up and down, I guess now is the right time to share. Feelin’ Light Feelin’ lighter each and every day Make it shine Keep on messing it up c’mon it’s ok It’s ok I’m learning how to listen right here and now Here and now To what my soul has really got to say. Friends they all keep on tellin’ me I’m acting some kinda strange. I wish they all could really sense It’s just my time to rearrange. All this information, All the dos and don’ts, All the ups and downs, This fever right here through my bones. Feelin’ Light Feelin’ lighter each and every day Make it shine Keep on messing it up c’mon it’s ok It’s ok I’m learning how to listen right here and now Here and now To what my soul has really got to say.

2000 Years 04:30
The sea of tranquillity is only on the moon, But here water never lays still like a Sunday afternoon Playing with release and tension is part of the game But to underline the latter is such a shame. They say we’ve been at war for 2000 years And human nature in collision, Set in stone. But if we all could learn how to dance with our fears We can move up and down All this mess can be outgrown. The river of illusion is flowing through my veins Remindful of what is gone Forgetting all that remains. But then I get a glimpse of faith, My inner world is round again. I smile to a stranger Sun shines through the rain. They say that we’ve been at war for 2000 years Human nature in collision Set in stone. But if we all could learn how to dance with our fears We can move up and down All this mess can be outgrown. They say we’ve been at war for 2000 years Human nature is collision, Set in stone. But if we all could learn how to dance with our fears We can move up and down All this mess can be outgrown. We’ve been at war for 2000 years And human nature in collision Set in stone. But if we all could learn how to dance with our fears We can move up and down All this mess can be, mess can be outgrown. (to the end)

Look all around you What do you see? (tell me baby) Very few are living Most are asleep. (oh yes they are) And if you try to wake ‘em up, You’ll never succeed. All you can do Is keep on planting those seeds. The world is not waiting for you Don’t waste your chance, now is the time to prove The air is full of promises you can fulfil Sooner than later I hope that you will. So many masters You’re willing to serve. You could dump them all But you - you ain’t got the nerve, no. You feel like a sailboat Hooked on a wind, oh yeah. You don’t know where you’ll end up, Or where to begin. And you just try and change your path And you might succeed. And you may find your heaven And everything you need. The world is not waiting for you Don’t waste your chance, now is the time to prove The air is full of promises you can fulfil, oh yeah Sooner than later I hope that you will. The world is not waiting for you Don’t waste your chance, now is the time to prove The air is full of promises you can fulfil Sooner than later I hope that you will.

Two Stars 04:41
All of a sudden nothing else matters, The only thing I need is having you close to me. But since you’re not here I’ll just have to keep on Tryin’ to make my life as bright as it should be. And my mind keeps runnin’ towards you dear But I don’t really know if I wanna stop it. I’m gonna bring my own sunshine So when your light will come we’ll make two stars We’ll be circling around one another Sometimes colliding or connecting from afar. All of a sudden everything makes sense Remote possibilities becoming reality. I could sense that our worlds would soon collide I just didn’t expect that your galaxy could hit me oh so fast. So you left me alone spellbound With a big smile on my face. I’m gonna bring my own sunshine So when your light will come we’ll make two stars (oh yes we will) We’ll be circling around one another Sometimes colliding or connecting from afar. Cos I’m gonna bring my own sunshine So when your light will come we’ll make two stars We’ll be circling around one another Sometimes colliding or connecting from afar. Our worlds will soon collide TWO STARS!

I’ve got a phone number in my wallet Her 'off day' is gonna be tomorrow (oh yes it will) I’ve got to find a way not to push it too early But the urge to call her is getting stronger. And I don’t know dear what is going on I’ve got this feeling that is oh so strong I really want to - to get to know you girl Let’s get away from the ordinary world. You must believe me when I tell you girl That I don’t like to do any small talk, no (no no no) But then everybody’s sayin’ you’re so easy Way too easy to do small talk with. And I don’t know dear what is going on I’ve got this feeling that is oh so strong I really want to - to get to know you girl Let’s get away from the ordinary world. And I don’t know dear what is going on I’ve got this feeling that is oh so strong I really want to - to get to know you girl Let’s get away from the ordinary world.

We Can Move 04:06
We can move So if you want to play the game Why don’t you write your own rules? Or else it will all just stay the same Tell me now, ain’t that a shame? You see it’s not a matter of positivity It’s just a matter of relationship between you and me You see it’s not a question of whether we self-approve In the end it’s just a choice – we can sit still… Or we can move We can move So, if you can live with all these fake (FAKE) Realities all around you Lookin’ for somebody that you can blame Tell me now, ain’t that a shame? You see it’s not a matter of positivity It’s just a matter of relationship between you and me You see it’s not a question of whether we self-approve In the end it’s just a choice – we can sit still… Or we can move You see it’s not a matter of positivity It’s just a matter of relationship between you and me, baby You see it’s not a question of whether we self-approve In the end it’s just a choice – we can sit still… Or we can move We can move We can move We can move

Don’t you know, somewhere – there’s always something Going on, yeah Feelin’ overwhelmed from time to time I’ve been talking too much about peace of mind. I know that there are things that I can turn to When I find myself riding with the blues. I ain’t talking ‘bout no TV or radio (What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do?) There’s so many great places where I wanna go. (What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do?) They may be physical or just in my head (What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do?) I’m gonna get to it before I lose my thread. What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do? When you get the blues, yeah. Tell me what’cha gonna do? Everybody’s talking ‘bout “guru-style” I’ve been hearing all this bullshit for a while. Now wisdom is so hard to reach When you don’t practice what you preach. There’s always something Going on There’s always some way That you can sing your song There’s always some place Somewhere where you don’t need to hide Don’t you know? There’s always something Going on, yeah There’s always some way Somewhere There’s always some place Somewhere, where you don’t need to hide, no! What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do? What’cha gonna do? I’m gonna get to it. What’cha gonna do?

YDKWYTA 08:24
You don’t know what you’re talking about You say it ain’t fair This ain’t gonna go nowhere. You say where’s the heart? You don’t know what you’re talking about. You say it ain’t fair This ain’t gonna go nowhere. You say where’s the heart? You don’t know what you’re talking about. I feel it’s gonna be a brand new world Nothing really stays the same. We can take it to a whole ‘nother level We just got to play a brand new game. (REPEAT)

about

Spacecake International began in 2016 with a chance musical meeting of like minds - Orlando Lund (from London), and Sergio Cocchi, Pepe Ragonese and Pancho Ragonese (all from Milan).

The compositions on Spacecake International’s “Unicorn Street” album come primarily from a collaboration between two outstanding songwriter / producer / musicians - Orlando "The Don" Lund and Sergio “SirJo” Cocchi.

Guitarist Orlando, who has produced and written classic acid-jazz-funk albums with the famously 'off the wall' London soul-funk-jazz collective "The Big Cheese All Stars", and later with Palma Groove Project, shared stages earlier in his career with artists such as James Brown, Gil Scott Heron, Roy Ayers, and Fred Wesley. He brings together all his influences from Space-Rock to P-Funk, from Soul to Acid Jazz and has contributed guitars, electric bass, drum programming, keyboards, and many of the backing vocals on the album, whilst also taking care of all production and arrangements.

Singer Sergio lived and studied music in Los Angeles, and has collaborated with artists such as singer Lisa Fischer (Rolling Stones). He has also written, produced and released 2 albums as part of the Milan based "Founda©tion" project. His incredibly soulful voice, and easy lyrical style is carried on the back of his crisp, accurate, multi-layered backing vocals. His wide dynamic vocal range handles deep baritone to Prince-like falsetto, and includes all the grit in between.

The songwriting duo are ably abetted by virtuosic instrumental performances on all the tracks from Pancho Ragonese (piano and Wurlitzer electric piano), Pepe Ragonese (trumpet), Pep Lluis Garcia (congas and percussion), Pablo Di Salvo (additional bass) and Miki Ramón (tenor sax).

The “Unicorn Street” album is an honest look at the human condition and relationships, whilst also being a scathing take on what it means to be here on Planet Earth in 2019. Fusing Jazz, Psychedelic Soul, Space Rock, Funk and Groove, with Steely Dan-esque and Zappa inspired arrangements, Spacecake International take you on a musically exhilirating ride down Unicorn Street - a journey you will want to repeat time and time again.
